This is What the regular season was like

The middle part of the ERSTE Liga season starts on Wednesday, we have collected some interesting facts and figures about the league and have the power rankings as well.

During the regular season there were a total of 1520 goals scored with an average of 6.9 goals per game, which was up from last season’s 6.4%. The most goals in one game was 15 which  happened three times (Titánok-DAB 9-6, Capitals-DAB 11-4, FTC-Titánok 8-7 SO) Ferencváros scored the most goals with 182 and Vasas scored the least with 81. DEAC, Csíkszereda and the Vienna Capitals all scored 10 goals at least in one game during the season.

Ferencváros ahd the best defence as they had 95 goals scored against them, the Vienna Capitals allowed the most goals with 198. Brasov had the most penalty minutes with 768 minutes with Vasas only picking up 423 penalty minutes.

The league's leading scorer was DEAC forward Hugo Turcotte who had 28 goals and 41 assists for a total of 69 points, ahead of Radim Valchar who had 60 points with Braden Walls and Tihamér Becze finishing with 57 each. The leading goal scorers were Jereme Tendler and Braden Walls who each scored 34 goals. The two Canadian forwards switched teams during the offseason as Tendler went from Ferencváros to Brasov with Walls going the other way.

Radim Valchar had the most shots on net as he scored 29 times on 180 shots. There was one player who scored on 100% of his shots as Zoltán Erdei scored on both his shots. Turcotte registered the most assists with 41 with Roberto Gliga finishing with 34 and Becze with 32.

Garrett Clarke had the most penalty minutes with 171 even though he left during the season.

Power Rankings:
1. FTC-Telekom: Even though a couple of losses slipped in recently they are going into the middle part of the season with momentum.

2.Csíkszereda: They has started play better since the arrival of the new coach, the the team has become more stable in the defensive end.

3. Brasov: The team had some big losses and some big wins as well during the season. They are not a team that anyone really wants to play against.

4. UTE: They are slowly taking steps forward, they have built the team on defense first. If they will be able to get things together in the offensive end they will be able to make a deep run.

5. DEAC: At the start of the season they were not expected to finish this high in the standings however Zoltán Hetényi and Hugo Turcotte had a great season.

6.Fehérvári Titánok: The team is becoming more and more balanced as well as starting to score more goals. They are peaking at the right time.

7. Gyergyó: They have become an up and down team since the arrival of the new coach. They need to be more stable if they want to make the playoffs.

8. Schiller-Vasas: Since the calendar was flipped to 2019 they have been one of the hottest teams in the league as there was only one game where they did not pick up any points.

9. Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák: They had the most shots on net from any team in the league. They need to become more effective in converting their chances. The team did not improve with the arrival of Zakharchenko in net. They need to cut down on their allowed goals if they want to make the playoffs.

10. HK Budapest: The team improved with the coaching change and the addition of new import players. They need to start to win their tight games.

11. Vienna Capitals: They did pick up a few big wins however this will not be enough to make the playoffs.
