DVTK take a one game lead, MAC is a game away from the Finals

Saturday night brought two semi final games to the MOL League fans. Diósgyőr picked a three goal win and a one game lead in the series. MAC won their third game of the series and are now one win away from the finals.

DVTK-UTE 4-1
UTE had Ales Sila in net, Ladislav Sikorcin was back from a one game suspension, however Róvert Dömötör was missing because of an injury. Peter Huba was still out with an injury and Dávid Pokornyi was in the lineup. The game started off with a fight as Bálint Magosi and Andrej Hebár exchanged blows. DVTK scored first when Andrew Johnston put home a rebound off of a shot by Jarkko Leppanen from the blueline. Early in the second period UTE tied the game up on a power play goal by Ádám Hegyi fro the right faceoff circle. Diósgyőr went back on top when Attila Pavuk made pass into open space that Nikandrosz Galanisz skated onto and slipped the puck past Sila. Later in the period DVTK opened up a two goal lead with a power play goal by Grant Toulmin. In the final minute of the period UTE came back to cut the deficit to one when Martin Frolik set up András Benk for the break away. In the third period Balázs Gőz jumped on a loose puck, skated down the left channel and fired it past Sila for the fourth Diósgyőr goal.

MAC-DHK 7-2
MAC had Bence Bálizs in net, Balázs Somogyi was back from suspnetion, Kristóf Schmál and Tamás Pozsgai were still out with injuries, Bence Bödök was back in the lineup. Debrecen also had some players back from injuries, Ákos Berta and Valeri Sadikov were back but missing were, Alexey Kosourov, Arnold Varga and Zsolt Wéber were missing with injuries, Artem Bezrukov was out with a suspension. MAC scored on the first shift of the game when Balázs Somogyi stuffed home a centering pass. MAC doubled their lead on the two man advantage when Jeff Jubinville set up Sean Escobedo on the 2 on 1. MAC took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission when Vladimir Nikiforov scored on a breakaway. In the third period Drew Olson was called for a knee and was sent to the locker room early, on the ensuing power play Brad Smith stuffed the puck home from right outside of the crease. MAC went up 4-1 when a pass from István Terbócs went back up to the blue line, from which Sean Escobedo fired a rocket past  Gyenes. On straight two minute power play Jon Booras setup Nikiforov for a tap in with a pass down low, on the back end of the two minutes as Booras put it past the goalie. Booras scored on the next power play as well to put MAC up 7-1. Richárd Tóth and Gyenes had a fight that resulted in József Pleszkán coming in  Gyenes in net, Norbert Hári was also sent to the locker room early as well. Jared Brown scored a shorthanded goal to make it 7-2. Brown would also end up getting tossed for s fight
