This past match week Ferencváros went to Transylvania and defeated Gyergyói HK and got back at Brasov for their loss on home ice the week before. In the two games Adrián Tóth finished with with three goals, one assist and a +/- rating of +5. With Ferencváros winning two crucial games and Tóth being a big part of it he is this week’s Player of the Week.

This is the second time this season that Tóth was voted player of the week this season. Tóth and Ferencváros hope to continue welling well throughout the rest of the season. If Ferencváros wins the ERSTE Liga then Tóth would be picking up his third league title to go along with the three that he won in Miskolc.

How was this past match week for Ferencváros?
The first team that we faced this week was Gyergyó, who is not an easy team to beat on the road in front of their fans. These trips to Transylvania are important because a lot of teams drop important points. We are very happy that we were able to pick up the six points on the trip. Last week we had lost to Brasov on home ice so it was nice to get revenge against them. This was an important win since we did not have a single power play minute in the game.

This is your eleventh season in the league, how much has the league changed you first started playing?
The league has tremendously since I first played in the league, back then there were about seven or eight teams and the league was always changing now we are up to 11 teams this season, so the number of teams have increased. The overall level of the league might have gone down from last season however the league in general has improved a lot. The quality of players has gotten better as well. Vasas is a team that has been a pleasant surprise and they have been able to play with a number of young players.

You have won a number of championships, what does a hockey team need to be success and to have a chance as winning a title in the ERSTE Liga?
This might sound like a cliché but I really think that team unity is important. Braden Walls recently said in an interview that we does not feel that this is a place of work, I think this is really how it is. We you feel that you have to go into the locker room and get ready for practice or a game. If you feel that this is a place of work then you do not perform to the best of your abilities. If you like coming in and you enjoy your time with the team then the team will play well and have a chance to win the league.

Now that you are older what do you do differently than when you were a young player?
Younger players have to concentrate on getting stronger and also being able to handle the physicality of the league. After a certain age this comes naturally. I do not think I have changed much from than when I was younger, now I have the experience which helps me on the ice.

You have played with a number of imports throughout your career, who was the one from the past that you had the best chemistry with?
I really had a great time playing on one line with Keegan Dansereau, before he had his Hungarian citizenship. I was on one line with him and Roland Hajos for one season, I really enjoyed that year.
