After defeating both Vienna and Dunaújváros by large scores Ferencváros has stayed on top of the ERSTE Liga with an undefeated record. There were a number of worthy players such as Dávid Szappanos and Maksims Sirokovs. However with his productions in the two wins Tamás Virág was voted this week’s Player of the Week.

Tamás Virág came up through the Újpest youth system where he followed his older brother Csaba’s footsteps. Tamás signed with Dunaújváros for the 2007-08 season and would stay with the club for the parts of seven seasons. During his time in Dunaújváros he would end up winning two MOL League titles. He moved back to UTE during the 2013-14 season where he would be reunited with childhood friends and also play with his brother Csaba. This past offseason Tamás signed with cross town rivals Ferencváros, it looks as if the move paid off as he has five point in four games, and by the sound it he is having a great time with Fradi.

What has been the secret to for the hot start of the season for both you and Ferencváros?
If we look at it we have not played MAC, Brasov or DVTK in the first four games However these will be the next three teams we face. This should show more of an accurate picture of where we are. We have been lucky that we have a really tight team and I have known most of these guys for a couple of years now. The atmosphere around the team is great both on and off the ice.

Why did you decided to sign with Ferencváros during the offseason?
The management for Újpest told me that they were going in a different direction, so I had to look for another team. I wanted to stay in Budapest so I gave Fradi and call and they were happy to bring me in. I am trying to make the most of my opportunity here.

How is this Ferencváros team different from any of the teams you have played for in the past?
There isn’t much difference than in other teams, there has always been a good environment, however there are always peaks and valleys in a game for a team. With this team we stick together, if someone makes a mistake the others don't get on him about it but support each other and help him get to the next step. This produces more of an air of freedom around the team.

What can the fans expect from Ferencváros in the next couple of games?
We will travel to MAC and then host Brasov, unfortunately I can not see into the future. We want to show everyone that we can compete with a MAC, we are going game by game and not worry about the next games after that. We plan to go to their place and not just play a game and lose but to pick up points. Once we play this game we will look on to the next one after that.
