Dunaújváros kept on winning this past week as they defeated both Fehérvár and Brasov as the team is sitting in third place as we come to the end of the regular season. Márk Nagy finished the week with three goals and one assist as Dunaújváros picked up six out of six points and is this week’s Player of the Week.

Márk Nagy was born in 1996 in Dunaújváros came up through the local hockey system, he spent part of one season playing for the Vasas U18 and U20 seasons and got his first taste of senior hockey when he finished up one season with Tisza Volán in the Serbian hockey league. Aside from this he has spent his entire career in Dunaújváros and is having a breakout season. Last year he was called into the senior national team camp as well as the U25 national team camp.

How come this season has been going so well for both you and your team?
Actually everything has been going great since the coaching change, but it has been really teamwork. Everyone has been doing what they can, we have had great contributions from our goalie and everyone one has been doing everything on the ice. This has really been a true teamwork.

You have only ever played for Dunaújváros, how come?
I have always wanted to play at home, and my contract keeps me here so this is what I am concentrating on.

Last year you were called into the national team training camp before the World Championships, what was that experience like?
It was a large roster and then I was moved to the U25 camp, I think I had a chance to try to make that team. I learned a lot and I had a chance to experience something different.

What can the Dunaújváros fans expect from the team in the remainder of the season?
We have a spot in the top half of the standings and we still have a chance at finishing in second place. We want to finish as high as possible in the end and we want to take a medal at the end of the season.

How would you describe yourself as a player?
I think that I am a useful player both on the power play and on the penalty kill. I am willing to do whatever the coach asks from me. I try to support the attack but also defend in the defensive end. If try to take advantage of all the opportunities that are given to me. When I was in the third and fourth lines I had more defensive responsibilities, however now I am expected to score as well.
