Player of the Week: Kelin Ainsworth

It is proof that the league is so balanced that none of the teams were able to close out the match week without. Fehérvár defeated both MAC and Újpest during the week, Kelin Ainsworth scored points in every game and was voted this week’s Player of the Week.

Kelin Ainsworth comes from Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada, he came up through the local youth system before moving to play prep hockey at Rothesay Netherwood School, he spent one season in the SIJHL and then two seasons with the Traverse CIty Northstars where he was teammates with current UTE defenceman Nilan Nagy.

He started his university career at Lake Superior State University where he was redshirted his freshman year and played 25 games the following season. After two season in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan at Lake State, he moved back home to Thunder Bay and attended Lakehead University in the CIS (currently known as U-Sport). In his final season he had 29 points in 28 games before coming over to Fehérvár to play for the Titánok.
