The regular season will have all 11 teams playing four games against everyone else in the league. Following the 40 game regular season the league will split in half with the top five teams playing in the top half with the bottom six team battling it out for the final three playoff spots. In this middle part of the season every team will play two games against the other teams in their group.
The top three teams will pick their first round opponents, this will happen for the semi finals as well.
The regular season will start on September 9th with two games in Budapest as Ferencváros will host DEAC and HK Budapest will host the Vienna Capitals. The game of the regular season will be played on January 21st 2019.
The middle part of the season will go from January 23 until February 23 with the playoffs starting the 26th. Each playoff series will be the best out of seven games. The latest the season could go til is April 6th.
The overtime rules will stay the same, in the regular season and the middle part of the season overtime will be played 3 on 3 with sudden death, if a goal is not scored in five minutes of overtime then the game will go to a shootout. In the playoffs it will be 4 on 4 sudden death.
